Job Opportunity
We are expanding our brand new downtown Vancouver office and seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our team. As a key resource, you will help build our security competency in the Vancouver office, assisting in orienting new team members within our established global security organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate cyber, infrastructure, and application teams to facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and risk mitigation.
- Perform forensics investigations based on logs and other data.
- Provide security support for our web-based SaaS product operating on distributed cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS).
- Prevent problems before they occur through threat modeling and risk assessments.
- Partner with DevOps, Engineering, and Security teams to mitigate findings and create security solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Security/Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity, InfoSec, Security Engineering, Network Engineering, with expertise in at least 2 areas: cloud security, web application security, incident response, threat hunting, and cybersecurity operations.
- Hands-on technical skills in Linux.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python or Bash).
- Experience in at least one coding language (PHP and JavaScript) is a plus.
- Standard industry certification (GSEC, CISA/CISM/CISSP/CSCS/CEH) or willingness to obtain within 8 months.
- Excellent command of English.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to coordinate with different local and global teams.
