As the Assistant Bakery Department Manager, you will work closely with the Bakery Manager to oversee the preparation and execution of daily bakery operations, including team management, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mentor and motivate Team Members to achieve high levels of productivity and quality
  2. Provide support with regular team meetings and coaching sessions to ensure Team Members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
  3. Coach and train Team Members to maintain the highest level of productivity and quality
  4. Handle Team Member and customer issues in a professional and timely manner
  5. Uphold company policies and procedures, including health & safety, food safety, and loss prevention
  6. Merchandise and manage inventory to meet financial objectives

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 1-year experience in a bakery department with a solid understanding of product knowledge
  2. Ability to decorate cakes and pastries
  3. Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with Team Members and Customers
  4. Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and work in a fast-paced environment
  5. Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
  6. Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency
  7. Effective communication and listening skills
  8. Strong creativity skills and ability to create eye-catching displays
  9. Ability to role model and inspire behavior consistent with our values
  10. Work is performed in a store retail environment
  11. Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends
  12. Travel is required to support off-site events
