Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Commercial Title Insurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you'll be responsible for underwriting and issuing commercial title insurance policies for transactions across Canada, with a focus on national law firms. You'll also educate customers on the benefits of commercial title insurance, due diligence requirements, and title insurance coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review lawyer's title memorandums, due diligence, and searches to prepare title insurance policies for commercial real estate transactions.
  • Provide information to customers regarding commercial title insurance coverage, underwriting guidelines, endorsements, quotes, and procedures.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers and business partners across the organization.
  • Support team members by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and collaborating to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Law Clerk Diploma or relevant work experience.
  • Ten years' experience as a real estate law clerk in a law firm and/or title insurance environment handling commercial and/or residential real estate transactions.
  • Technical knowledge of the practice of real estate law and an understanding of the mechanics of a real estate transaction.
  • Professional and customer service-focused, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Excellent computer skills – MS Office Suite.
