Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Archadeck of Nova Scotia.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work on various construction settings, focusing on maintenance and repair. As a Construction Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring and assembling materials, scheduling work, instructing apprentices, and working in different environments with attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have excellent physical abilities, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. Additionally, they should possess accurate skills, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed layouts according to building codes using precise measuring tools.
  • Cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made from wood, substitutes, steel, and other materials.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites efficiently.
  • Instruct apprentices in their tasks and provide guidance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction maintenance or a related field.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
  • Varied construction settings, including heights, noisy areas, and dusty conditions.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is between $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. The company offers a comprehensive healthcare plan, permanent work term, and 40 hours of work per week.
