About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves leading a team of skilled engineers to extend, enhance, and provide engineering support for our service infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced professional to take on this leadership role and drive success in our engineering operations.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading, and organizing a team to deliver solutions to customers, resolve complex technical issues, and improve the overall stability of our archiving system.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, and experience with integrated software engineering processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Proofpoint Archiving Products and providing customer support to resolve difficult customer issues
  • Designing, developing, and delivering solutions to customers to help them resolve problems in their deployments
  • Working on developing solutions and resolving issues within our products to improve the overall stability of the archiving system
  • Collaborating with our Support organization to understand problem areas and develop creative solutions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum five years industry experience delivering industrial-strength, commercial software with demonstrated technical expertise in a OO language (C#/Java/C++)
  • A deep understanding of building great teams and culture
  • Strong command of advanced OO concepts/methodologies, distributed systems, concurrent programming with threads, high-availability, web services, and complex data architectures
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to find and evaluate solutions to productions issues
  • Experience with integrated software engineering processes (e.g., unit testing, source control, continuous build, etc.)
  • Self-starting ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple assignments
  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
