Fitch Ratings is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to join our team as an Associate Director, covering the Utilities and Midstream sector. This is a key role in our North American Corporates Group, based in New York, Chicago, or Toronto.
Key Responsibilities- Perform in-depth analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Utilities and Midstream sectors.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support credit rating decisions.
- Conduct meetings with industry management teams to gather insights and information.
- Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees and external audiences.
- Communicate rating rationale to institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and media through meetings, conference calls, press releases, and written research reports.
- Write timely and effective research on topical issues affecting the Utilities and Midstream sectors.
- Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups.
- Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies.
- Mentor junior members of the Utilities and Midstream sector.
- 4+ years of relevant experience, with some coverage or knowledge of the Utilities and Midstream sectors a plus.
- Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.
- Expertise in Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment.
