Maintenance Technician/Maintenance Electrician

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair, maintain, install, replace, troubleshoot, and diagnose various machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, conveyors, belts, fans utilizing hand tools and testing instruments;
- Inspect completed repairs and recommend appropriate solutions;
- Perform all work with strict adherence to all applicable safety legislation and procedures;
- Estimate time and material costs on electrical and mechanical projects;
- Requisition supplies and materials as required and approved by management;
- Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instruction and install equipment to diagram specifications;
- Provide performance feedback to workers to motivate or improve adherence to operating procedures or quality standards;
- Complete work orders as required and ensure appropriate follow-up communication;
- Disassemble machines and repair/replace/adjust parts accordingly;
- Clean and lubricate equipment, parts, and machinery;
- Maintain equipment in proper operating condition;
- May be required to perform machine operator duties on occasion;
- Assist co-workers with any questions or issues regarding task completion.
- Valid 442A Electrician Licence and/or a Valid 433A Millwright Licence .
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in Industrial Maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable safety legislation.
- Proficient at troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and servicing all plant equipment in a timely manner.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills. Must be fluent in English (read, write, and speak).
- Experience with a variety of machinery, vehicles, material handling equipment, hand, and power tools preferred. Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Must be deadline-oriented, reliable, and dependable on start and finish times as it impacts the operations.
- Must work well with others and possess good hand-eye coordination.
- Must be comfortable rotating throughout the facility as required.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, and attention to detail.
- Work Site Environment: Can get dusty, recycling odor.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation.
- Shifts (2): Monday - Friday; 6:00 AM– 2:30 PM & 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, + Overtime; two weeks days then switch to two weeks afternoons.
