Job Title: Produce Department Supervisor
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Department Supervisor to join our team at Coop de Saint-Louis. As a key member of our retail business, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our produce department, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign sales workers to duties and oversee their performance
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to succeed in the role
- Order merchandise and authorize returns to maintain an efficient and effective inventory system
- Establish work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and productivity
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages
- Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that products are stocked and displayed effectively
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
Requirements:
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in a supervisory role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
