Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at EightSix Network. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee drinks to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve coffee drinks using a state-of-the-art espresso machine.
  • Work independently to oversee the entire storefront and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Pack and sell retail products, including those available on Uber.
  • Organize and consolidate pastries sold throughout the afternoon.
  • Build rapport with new and returning customers.
  • Liaise with peers to help where needed.
  • Perform tasks for closing and opening the store.
  • Properly clean and shut down the coffee machine.
  • Meet the needs of all guests through customer service and product knowledge.
  • Stock and restock in-store products and goods.
  • Cash handling and transactions.
  • Organize, wash, and maintain dishware.
  • General housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Professionally represent the company.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through de-escalation methods.
  • Prevent and minimize waste.

Requirements

  • Saturday and Sunday availability is required.
  • Evening availability is required.
  • 1 year of experience as a barista in a busy fast-paced establishment is required.
  • 6 months of serving experience is an asset.
  • LightSpeed POS experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to multitask and think critically.
  • Has a sense of business acumen and self-confidence.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Collaborative, honest, and dependable.
  • Fluent in English.
  • FoodSafe is a bonus.
