Job Summary

Church & Dwight Canada is seeking a skilled Mechanic-Assembler to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging equipment, maintaining high-quality products, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, adjust, start, and operate all packaging equipment to meet productivity standards.
  • Perform format changes and machine adjustments to optimize production.
  • Determine the need for adjustments and perform line optimization to ensure efficient production.
  • Coordinate the supply of products and components to production lines in collaboration with the assigned General Assistant and Line Supervisor.
  • Feed equipment with products and materials according to packaging instructions.
  • Perform first-level maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate information to the supervisor regarding the need for Work Order (WO) issuance.
  • Operate and monitor equipment (packaging lines and cartoners) as needed during IPC testing by the Line Supervisor.
  • Perform cleaning and degreasing of fillers.
  • Complete production documents and records in accordance with established document procedures.
  • Report any quality deviations or issues to the supervisor.
  • Enter data into the Sherpasoft system.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), document best practices, and health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role in the pharmaceutical, food, or related industry (experience with equipment used in the pharmaceutical industry, such as fillers, bottle washers, cartoners, etc.).
  • Ability to use manual tools or other tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc.) necessary for task execution.
  • Fluency in French, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity, analytical, and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adherence to procedures.
