Job Overview

We are recruiting for a Part-Time Mental Health & Wellness Instructor. As an educational leader in the classroom, you will deliver SIIT programs and curricula to promote student success. This role involves organizing and implementing instructional activities that create a learning environment guiding student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare lesson plans and relevant documents for course delivery.
  • Incorporate current technology advancements within instruction and administration where applicable.
  • Complete all course-required materials, including attendance records and course evaluations.
  • Evaluate and record student progress within set time frames.
  • Maintain a positive, diverse, and inclusive work and learning environment.
  • Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and recommend action to applicable supervisors regarding student behavior.
  • Recommend modifications to course objectives, outlines, curriculum, and evaluation procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Social Work, or related degree.
  • An understanding of adult learning theories and principles.
  • A genuine commitment to helping students learn and succeed.
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • The ability to incorporate contemporary methodologies with Indigenous pedagogy.
  • Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations.
Salary and Benefits

This part-time position offers a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, based on 22.5 hours worked per week. Contract duration: January 2, 2025 - June 13, 2025. We strive to provide a positive work environment that promotes student success.
