Senior Wine Associate

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wine Associate to lead our airport wine experience. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for embodying a positive company image by providing exceptional customer service, embodying our family culture, and delivering an unforgettable wine experience to our customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage a team of wine experts to provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere
- Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of wines, including wine tasting, evaluation, and sales
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a relaxed and refined environment, despite the challenges of the airport environment
- Deliver exceptional leadership and motivational skills to the team, driving sales and customer satisfaction
- Train and develop new team members in wine, service, and sales
- Effectively manage restaurant operations, including food, beverage, labor-management costs, receiving, storage, and inventory management
Requirements
- Two to four years of experience in a management or wine sommelier role at a reputable full-service restaurant, wine bar, or winery tasting room
- Ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of wines, including wine tasting, evaluation, and sales (desired but not required)
- Skilled at delivering exceptional customer service, with a focus on building positive relationships
- Highly responsible and reliable, with a commitment to getting the job done
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite products and retail point-of-sale systems
- Ability to pass required Transport Canada screening and background check, and have a fully functional sense of smell and taste
Working Conditions
- Hours will vary on a weekly basis based on workload and deadlines, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods
- Must be able to carry and balance a tray of full wine glasses, and lift and carry a standard case of wine
