Job Summary

Executive Aviation is seeking a skilled Licensed Automotive Technician to join our team as a Ground Service Equipment Mechanic. This is a full-time position based at the Kitchener Airport (YKF).

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all systems associated with work equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. They will also be responsible for evaluating parts for reuse, repair, or replacement, and using various hand and power tools to complete tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also be required to travel to other bases within our network for PMI or maintenance repairs, and be available for on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all systems associated with work equipment
  • Evaluate parts for reuse, repair, or replacement
  • Use various hand and power tools to complete tasks
  • Operate equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes and forklifts to assist in assignments
  • Investigate and locate equipment problems and take corrective action to minimize the impact on crew production
  • Adapt to new methods, processes, material, and equipment
  • Prepare and submit equipment maintenance records, time sheets, etc.
  • Follow prescribed safety procedures, including the use of safety clothing and equipment
  • Diagnose equipment problems and determine repair needs; determine priority repairs with guidance from the lead hand
  • On-call responsibilities
  • Travel to Northern Ontario (North Bay, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie) as well as legally able to travel outside of the country, if needed

Qualifications
  • Licensed Technician
  • On-call availability
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel, and push and pull for extended periods of time
  • Physical ability to consistently lift up to 70lbs/32kgs
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather
  • Ability to meet all conditions of employment: Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada, A criminal background check, Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
