Job Overview

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Northern Zone, Colchester East Hants Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve person-centered care.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing from an Advanced Practice stream;
  • Current registration or eligibility to register as a Nurse Practitioner;
  • Active practicing status with the NSCN and a license to practice as an NP in Nova Scotia;
  • Success in the NP examination;
  • CNA Certification in a relevant field (an asset);
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a progressive, innovative, and creative mindset;
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and environments;
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with high judgment and initiative;
  • Competencies in other languages (an asset, Mi'kmaq preferred);
  • A successful Criminal record check and vulnerable sector search;
  • Current certification in BCLS;
  • Course certification as applicable to program area (ACLS, TNCC) (an asset);
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Working Conditions

This permanent, full-time position requires 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
