Meat Wrapping Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team environment where you will be responsible for ensuring customer service is provided through maintaining a safe and efficient operation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service and maintain positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
  • Plan and perform all aspects of meat wrapping functions, including stocking, displays, and facing in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Handle merchandise to ensure quality, minimize damages, and markdowns. Provide substitutions and ensure price integrity.
  • Perform general cleanup duties, such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure a neat and organized department.
  • Perform duties following established Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.
  • Ensure the proper care, use, and maintenance of equipment and tools.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting inventory.
  • Use a knife and the meat grinders to provide ground product to customers when a meat cutter is unavailable.
Requirements:
  • Grade 9 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous retail or related experience.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of ordering and receiving procedures.
