Job Summary

VCA Canada Animal Hospitals is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team in Ontario. As a key member of our hospital team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical procedures, including preparation, assistance, and patient recovery
  • Conduct physical examinations, patient assessments, and take vital signs
  • Administer medications, perform venipuncture, and collect blood samples
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients and their owners
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

  • Completion of a two-year diploma in a Veterinary Technician program and eligibility to register with OAVT
  • Knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with clients and colleagues
  • Passion for animal care and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care
