About the Role:

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to join our Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage total project delivery using in-house and/or external resources for major infrastructure construction and rehabilitation projects
  • Monitor, track, and report on project status, approve all project expenditures, and arrange all project-related testing
  • Assignments involve major or multiple projects that are highly complex, of multi-million dollar value, frequently having numerous stakeholders, and may require extensive public consultation and environmental assessment
  • Participate in project identification, prioritization, and planning
  • Organize the conduct of environmental impact assessment and other studies and all stages of the project lifecycle

Requirements:

  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Engineering or Applied Science
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure, including a minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to analyze complex information, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions
