Job Title: Education Assistant On-Call

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team at School District #62. As an Education Assistant On-Call, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in our inclusive education setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of Individual Education Plan goals, objectives, and supports.
  • Supervise students within the school, on the playground, and on field trips, including transitioning between activities.
  • Assist students during classroom activities and support social inclusion through implementing self-regulation strategies, behaviour support strategies, and communication strategies.
  • Objectively observe and record student behaviour, as required.
  • Report safety, unusual behaviour, and discipline concerns to the principal or designate.
Requirements:
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Education Assistant Certification or equivalent in a related field or equivalent experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Minimum three (3) months of experience working with children.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development.
  • Familiarity with Individual Education Plans and Individual Care Plans an asset.
