Safety and Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Vancouver Airport Authority. As a key member of our Health and Safety Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement proactive and leading-edge health and safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Conduct inspections, risk assessments, internal audits of programs and practices, and incident investigations.
- Administer and deliver safety training, including Supervisor Safety Leadership training, FLHA use, and new employee orientations.
- Manage multiple priorities, such as conducting indoor environmental quality, noise dosimetry assessments, and liaising with tenants and airlines on issues pertaining to indoor environmental quality.
- Develop and sustain cooperative working relationships at all levels while overseeing the corporate Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics, WHMIS, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods programs.
- Minimum five years of recent, related progressive experience, supplemented by a post-secondary degree in health and safety or a related field.
- Possession of Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) designations is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in executing and operating successful health and safety programs and management systems.
- Thorough knowledge of federal and provincial regulations governing occupational health and safety.
We offer a competitive salary range of $86,640 to $124,545 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week. Eligible for an annual bonus target at 7.5% of your annual salary.
