About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer and Helper to join our team at Sunstar Homes Inc. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by loading, unloading, and transporting materials as needed.
  • Formwork and Scaffolding: Help erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Material Handling: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt, and assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
  • Assisting Tradespeople: Assist framing contractors, carpenters, and other tradespeople in their work, including erecting walls and building roofs.
  • Earthwork and Paving: Level earth to fine grade specifications and pave and rake asphalt to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Site Cleanliness: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • Site Safety: Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not necessary.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
Working Conditions
  • Work Term: This is a permanent position.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
