Job Title: Plant Engineer/Officer

Ontario Power Generation Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Engineer/Officer to join our team in Timmins, ON.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide technical support to modifications and construction for hydroelectric generating stations located across Northeastern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural design, geotechnical design, engineering condition assessment, inspections, investigations, and evaluations of hydroelectric structures.
  • Prepare drawings, technical specifications, assessment reports, and scope of work documents related to civil rehabilitation projects.
  • Assist in review and preparation of proposals related to civil design.
  • Assist in review and approval of engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Perform the role of OPG Owner's Engineer, recognize technical deficiencies, recommend remedial measures, review and approve engineering documents to the best of OPG's interest and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Respond to emergencies, structural failures, or unsatisfactory performance, conduct field investigations, prepare technical reports, and recommend actions.
Requirements:
  • 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility to become a Professional Engineer in Ontario is an asset.
