Machinist Specialist

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Machinist Specialist to join our team at Hercules SLR. As a key member of our machine shop, you will be responsible for providing precision machining services using conventional and CNC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
• Operate a variety of machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and surface grinders, to produce high-quality parts.
• Verify dimensions of machined tools or parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
• Design and create jigs and fixtures for both onsite equipment and production purposes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
• Travel to client sites to perform on-site machining services.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working as a machinist or in a related field.
• Journeyman inter-provincial Red Seal Machinist certification considered an asset.
• Experience as a welder considered an asset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
