About the Role

Spectrum Health Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Aide to join our team. As a Personal Support Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming, promoting their independence and dignity.
  • Meal Preparation and Service: Serve meal trays and assist residents with feeding, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Housekeeping and Laundry: Maintain a clean and comfortable environment, performing light housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Transportation and Mobility: Safely transport residents in wheelchairs or stretchers, ensuring their mobility and accessibility needs are met.
  • First Aid and Emergency Response: Administer first aid in emergency situations, responding promptly and effectively to ensure resident safety.
  • Companionship and Social Interaction: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, engaging in activities and conversations to promote their mental well-being.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Experience as a Personal Support Aide or in a related field is an asset.
