Forklift Operator Job Description

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our client's team in Trenton, ON. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $19 per hour, with opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate Forklifts: Move materials within the facility, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Load and Unload Trucks: Stack and unstack pallets, and perform other material handling tasks as required.
  • Conduct Routine Inspections: Report any maintenance issues with the forklift, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work with warehouse team members to achieve operational goals and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Travel Requirements: Valid driver's license required for travel between Trenton and Wills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a temperature-controlled/refrigerated environment.
  • Overtime: Willingness to work overtime when needed to support customer needs.
Requirements:
  • Forklift Experience: At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift.
  • Safe Equipment Operation: Ability to provide two employment references that can attest to safe equipment operation.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Experience: 1-year minimum experience operating a counterbalance forklift/reach truck/powered walkie in a warehouse setting.
  • Loading and Unloading: 1-year minimum experience loading and offloading trailers using a forklift.
  • Physical Abilities: Physical ability to lift and move heavy items.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including use of iPad and RF scanner.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation to work at different work sites as needed.
  • Criminal Background: Must have a clear criminal background and consent to completing a background check.
  • Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
