This role requires a skilled Government Relations and Communications Specialist to support our Public Affairs & Corporate Reputation teams. The ideal candidate will have excellent understanding of public policy and the federal government, as well as relevant experience in client relations and program/project management within the Corporate Reputation sector.
The successful candidate will deliver government/media relations strategy, conduct complex research, issues monitoring & reporting, and drive results for our clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing counsel to clients on government and public affairs needs, including direct advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and traditional media and social media support.
- Supporting the development and implementation of integrated public affairs programs for clients.
- Building strong relationships with clients and serving as the day-to-day client contact on multiple client accounts.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3-4 years of experience in a government or public affairs role.
- Previous client service experience in a corporate communications role, preferably in a public relations/public affairs agency.
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset.
- Superior writing skills, with the ability to develop and edit high-quality materials such as briefing notes, position papers, fact sheets, and presentations.
