As a Vice President within Teneo Strategic Communications, you will play a key role in executing holistic, integrated programs and communications initiatives that support our clients' needs. This may include corporate communications and investor relations programs, executive positioning campaigns, media relations strategies, and issues and crisis management.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with a strong track record of managing client relationships and leading teams. You will be responsible for preparing client-ready written content, strategic plans, press releases, talking points, Q&As, briefing memos, and distributed media materials, as well as managing messages and coordinating client program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work on Calgary-based client accounts and support client work in the Toronto, Montréal, and global offices
  • Prepare client-ready written content, strategic plans, press releases, talking points, Q&As, briefing memos, and distributed media materials
  • Manage messages and coordinate client program activities
  • Serve as a reliable, adaptable resource for senior team members capable of overseeing others
  • Contribute to the Business Development process, including proposal development and pitch participation
  • Contribute to operational requirements in the office, including supporting Teneo marketing events and business development activities

Qualifications

  • 5 – 10 years in public relations/corporate communications/media/investor relations or relevant experience
  • Strong track record of managing client relationships
  • Experience managing large teams, with a particular focus on mentoring junior staff
  • Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to see complex projects through to execution
  • Knowledge of the media landscape and demonstrated track record of engaging with journalists and/or fostering journalist relationships
  • Experience with issues and crisis management, or complex and/or sensitive mandates
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and capital markets
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; experience delivering presentations in PowerPoint is required
  • Ability to navigate complex or ambiguous environments
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms, as well as media and monitoring tools such as Meltwater
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
