About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team responsible for the requirements, design, development, testing, and implementation of IM/IT and OPOR projects throughout the province.

This position supports the organization's direction towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the One Person, One Record (OPOR) strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, implement and promote the provincial strategic direction under the guidance and direction of the IMIT/OPOR Manager.
  • Ensure a customer service focused approach throughout the portfolio by developing a stakeholder engagement strategy for planning and continuous quality improvement.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with clinical staff, physicians, clinical leaders and other business stakeholders to promote awareness of IM/IT systems and processes.
  • Counsel the Directors and Program Manager with respect to clinical technology projects and alignment with the strategic direction of IM/IT and its clients, formal project management practices, key performance indicator development and reporting.
  • Lead and motivate a high performing, dynamic, multi-disciplinary team promoting quality work, high levels of customer service in a cost effective manner.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required (consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and work experience).
  • Minimum of five to seven years' leadership experience with IM/IT Services, project management, programs and services.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) required.
  • Strong knowledge of health care issues.
  • Knowledge and skills in the areas of Project Management methodologies, IM/IT tools, applications and systems of support.
  • Experience in leading teams of staff with indirect accountabilities to other operational units.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
