Join Maple Leaf Foods' Production Team

We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the roles of Production Labourer and Sanitation Labourer in our production facilities.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to food processing, including packaging, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment. Your duties will also include manually packing product into bags, cartons or other containers, checking products and packaging for basic quality defects, and working with food production equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Feed cartons into machines and ensure accurate weighing of materials and/or product.
  • Manually pack product into bags, cartons or other containers and remove finished goods cartons from conveyers.
  • Check products and packaging for basic quality defects and report any issues promptly.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Sanitation Labourer Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and work areas within specified timeframes.
  • Use long poles and hoses to support sanitation processes, and work at various levels and heights to reach all work areas.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment to clean all surfaces and ensure effective sanitation practices.
Benefits and Compensation

Maple Leaf Foods is committed to offering competitive salaries and benefits to its employees. As a Production Labourer or Sanitation Labourer, you can expect to earn an estimated salary of $19.10 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and shift premium pay. Additionally, you will have access to comprehensive benefits, including pension after two years of service and discounted purchases on poultry products.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also have good physical stamina, as you will be required to lift heavy objects and work at various heights. Previous experience in food processing or sanitation is an asset, but not necessary.
