About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fish Plant Labourer to join our team at Petit-Cap Fisheries Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing and handling of fish and shellfish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport fish and shellfish to the work area, maintaining a safe and organized environment.
  • Condition fish filets for wrapping or freezing, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines, following established procedures.
  • Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination, ensuring efficient processing.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, physically demanding conditions, and attention to detail. You will be required to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, and work overtime as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but a willingness to learn and train is essential.
  • Relocation costs will be covered by the employer, and we are willing to relocate the right candidate.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude are essential for success in this role.
