Job Summary

Chinook Industrial Ltd. is seeking a skilled Machinist Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools, including CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools
  • Fitting and assembling components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Maintaining, repairing, and calibrating precision measuring instruments
  • Documenting and reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Maintaining inspection records and completing inspection reports
  • Verifying dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
  • Setting up and operating conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
  • Verifying dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
  • Setting up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
Requirements
  • Machinist Trade Certification
  • Experience with CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
