We are seeking a Child Welfare Specialist to join our dynamic team at Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of First Nations children and families. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will provide culturally relevant services and support to help them achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Maintain positive relationships with First Nations Councils, elders, committees, and applicable agencies.
  • Collaborate with Family Services Workers to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in care.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to children and families.
  • Report incidents or suspicions of abuse to the Program Supervisor immediately.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with children in a human service environment.
  • Possession of a valid Ontario driver's license and ability to travel.
  • Ability to speak a native language an asset.
