Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled plumbing work, including installation, alteration, and repair of plumbing systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Install, test, and maintain plumbing systems, including gas, air, water, and medical gases systems.
  2. Repair and maintain ward plumbing fixtures, including taps, faucets, mixing valves, isolation valves, and toilets.
  3. Inspect and test cross-connection preventative devices and plumbing equipment.
  4. Carry out plumbing preventive maintenance, including inspecting piping systems, cross-connection preventative devices, drains, and other plumbing fixtures for repair and maintenance needs.
  5. Set up and maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools, and complete related reports and records.
  6. Maintain logs and records of tests of plumbing equipment, eye wash stations, fire pumps, cross-connection preventative devices, and plumbing fixtures and equipment.
  7. Participate on various internal and external committees as required.
  8. Assist and relieve the Plant Maintenance Engineer in the operation and repair of steam boilers and ancillary steam equipment as required.
  9. Maintain working areas in a clean and safe condition.
Qualifications

Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC. Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section. Certificate of Competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of B.C. Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to deal with others effectively, physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, ability to organize work, ability to operate related equipment.
