Job Summary

The Advanced Care Paramedic provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. This role operates within the knowledge and scope of the Advanced Care practice, providing leadership throughout each shift using specified educational training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain personal knowledge and skills in accordance with the Alberta Occupational Competency Profile (AOCP) to deliver optimum patient care.
  • Safely operate MHS - West vehicles in accordance with MHS - West Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and all provincial and federal regulations.
  • Stocks and maintains vehicles in a state of readiness at all times.
  • Work in hazardous environments to ensure the safety and stabilization of the patient.
  • Document all patient care, assessments, and skills, within the patient care report in a timely and legible fashion.
  • Punctual and ready to respond at the start of their shift.
  • Act in a professional manner and handle conflict situations with good judgment.
  • Follow the MHS - West chain of command.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Alberta Operators License class 1, 2 or 4.
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
  • Completion of Alberta Health Services MCP's.
