Job Overview

The Senior Risk Management Specialist reports to the Sr. Director, Treasury and oversees the management of RBI's corporate insurance program, interest rate hedging programs, and foreign exchange hedging activities.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with Third Party Administrators, senior legal counsel, and insurance brokers to manage claims reporting and resolution processes.
  • Manages internal and external reporting processes for the company's insurance casualty reserve, working closely with a third-party actuary.
  • Analyzes claims data and actuarial models to identify trends and proposes recommendations to minimize claims costs.
  • Collects underwriting data from internal partners for policy renewals on multiple lines of insurance coverage.
  • Negotiates with third-party insurance brokers and underwriters to manage the insurance program renewal process.
  • Evaluates the company's risk retention strategy by analyzing premium costs, historical claims data, and actuarial models, recommending structure and coverage changes as needed.
  • Assists in evaluating interest rate and foreign exchange hedging activities.
  • Reviews hedging activity with Accounting and ensures adequate documentation and implementation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics, or CFA preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Flexible, organized, and customer-focused to foster strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in an insurance-related position is preferred, with US and Canadian experience being a plus.
  • Familiarity with auto coverage, property, general liability, workers' compensation coverage is preferred.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
