About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Macaulay Centres for Children. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Assist with observations, program planning, and the implementation of activities that promote children's emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of mutual respect and kindness.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families, providing regular updates on their child's day.
  • Support the team in managing children's medication schedules and allergies.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Work in compliance with relevant regulations and laws, including the Child Care and Early Years Act and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Requirements
  • Early Childhood Education degree or diploma and membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Experience working with families and children, including those with special needs.
  • Understanding of ELECT, the Child Care and Early Years Act, and other relevant regulations and laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing circumstances.
