About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Technician to join our facilities team at City Hall. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing the mechanical systems that power our buildings.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with our facilities team to ensure the smooth operation of our infrastructure. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and service environmental control systems
  • Monitor and service facilities emergency systems
  • Perform minor maintenance on buildings and associated structures
  • Perform janitorial maintenance duties and general grounds keeping
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a 5th Class Stationary Engineers Certificate and Refrigeration Engineer Certificate, as well as three years of experience in building operations and maintenance. A First Aid certificate and WHMIS certification are also required.

The successful candidate will be able to interpret and apply relevant legislation and policies related to the operation and maintenance of City facilities. They will also possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel within the city.
