Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fabricator to join our team at Loucon Metal Limited. As a Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling structural metal components using various metalworking machines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine materials required for fabrication
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation
  • Lay out reference points and patterns for fabrication
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
  • Weld or bolt sections together using MIG and TIG welding techniques
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, including brakes, presses, and saws
  • Construct patterns and templates for fabrication
  • Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in steel fabrication
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with attention to detail

Working Conditions

The Steel Fabricator will work in a noisy, cold, and dusty environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The position requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
