About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Major Contracts and Commercial Manager to join our team at Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading independent renewable energy producer with a strong portfolio of assets in Canada, the United States, France, and Chile.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies for projects under development.
- Negotiate and manage major contracts and procurement agreements.
- Lead the preparation of contract documents, including specifications, general and special conditions, and exhibits.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure efficient procurement processes.
- Provide input and review to the Strategic Planning team for market pricing databases.
- Oversee contract development and ensure timely agreement execution.
- Investigate market trends and provide recommendations on procurement timing and new suppliers and contractors.
- Support project acquisition processes on procurement strategy, scope, and costs.
- Ensure effective coordination and information sharing within the multi-disciplinary project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration.
- Specialization in wind and solar energy is an asset.
- Experience in sourcing and negotiating wind and solar project contracts in the United States and/or Canada.
- Proficient with the MS Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required.
