About the Role
Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recognized for its commitment to excellence and innovation. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's growth and success by developing and implementing cutting-edge products that meet and exceed customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze product designs, specifications, and prototypes to ensure they meet customer requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product designers, sales, and manufacturing, to identify product features and improvements.
- Develop and execute product development plans that achieve targeted results, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased functionality.
- Lead effective meetings and communicate product status, timelines, and engineering changes to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure products meet or exceed customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and analyze product weaknesses and develop solutions to improve product performance and reliability.
- Work with vendors to source equipment and materials, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing and meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Develop and maintain accurate product development records, including documentation and testing results.
- Assist other engineers with product development projects and provide technical guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
- 3 years' experience in the automotive industry, with a strong background in product development and engineering.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline or equivalent engineering technology diploma.
- Knowledge of industry standards, including TS16949, and experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow.
- Proven ability to create and execute product development plans that achieve targeted results.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead effective meetings and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Computer-competent, with experience using software such as Word, Excel, Project, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel to USA and international destinations, with a valid passport and any necessary visas.
Working Conditions
- Travel as required, with the ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
