About the Role

The Automation Project Manager will lead projects, build and maintain project relationships, and lead Automation team members through projects. This position will work closely with the Automation Manager to support specific projects and people; ultimately creating exceptional client experiences through the completion of Control Systems and Automation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee all aspects of projects, from quoting and kick-off to invoicing and close-out.
  2. Plan and allocate resources effectively, collaborating with other regions as needed.
  3. Ensure proper preparation and execution of scheduled work, including on-site participation as determined by the Project Manager.
  4. Prepare status and progress reports.
  5. Identify, prepare, submit, and track change proposals and change orders.
  6. Foster a culture of safety and ensure safe work processes on all projects.
  7. Ensure completion of reports and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and completeness of work.
  8. Maintain an organized digital ecosystem for each project and ensure that all job-related documentation is filed per company standards.
  9. Ensure accurate and timely project invoicing.
  10. Understand the financial health of the project using company provided tools.
  11. Ultimate responsibility for delivering Superior Client Experiences on all projects.
Client Relations
  1. Present new services and maintain existing client relationships.
  2. Follow up on leads to generate profitable opportunities.
  3. Maintain the CRM activities, opportunities, and forecasting.
  4. Prepare and review proposals for projects with the intent to obtain new and repeat client business.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with clients to develop new work and drive repeat business.
People Leadership
  1. Lead and manage a team of automation specialists, providing guidance and support.
  2. Foster continuous learning and growth within the team through coaching and development.
  3. Identify and nurture talent to support current and future projects.
  4. Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  5. Set clear performance expectations and goals, and provide feedback and recognition.
Processes & Systems
  1. Drive and participate in the improvement of project processes.
  2. Build relationships and work collaboratively with Operational, Sales, and Central Services teams to assist in implementing and executing all company practices and processes.
Requirements
  1. 10+ years of industrial automation related experience.
  2. 5+ years of related work experience in project management.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  4. Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive for results.
  5. Goal-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  6. Dedicated and committed to providing exceptional client service to our internal and external clients.
  7. Strong business acumen with relationship building skills.
  8. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  9. Able to work in a dynamic work environment.
  10. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing work.
  11. Professional team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  12. A positive, "can-do" attitude.
