About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Mackenzie Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic, patient-centered care to patients in the Operating Room
- Work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to create a world-class health experience for patients and their families
- Contribute to safe, quality care by effectively managing workload, addressing and resolving issues, and exercising sound professional judgment
- Comply with patient and staff safety policies and procedures to create a safe and inclusive environment
Requirements:
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Graduation from a perioperative certification course or completion of the classwork/curriculum components of the perioperative certification course
- At least 1 year of recent nursing experience working as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
- Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, patient education, and documentation skills
- Experience working with electronic medical records
- Familiarity with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adjust to new or unexpected events
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year relevant experience
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program
- Certification with CNA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course
- Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO)/Canadian Nurses Association (CNA)
- Ability to speak a second language
