Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at the Nelson Health Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide life skills training, coaching, advocacy, information, and support services for clients experiencing mental health, behavioural, and developmental problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide interventions focused on specific skills training and support needs of clients, including relapse prevention, community adjustment, and employment skills.
  • Facilitate client empowerment and competency development within the four domains of psychosocial rehabilitation (personal life, education, leisure, and work).
  • Monitor client goal attainment, proactively assist individuals in averting potential crises, and report client status and progress to the Case Coordinator or multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate, plan, promote, arrange, facilitate, and evaluate specialized PSR programs, as required.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Diploma in a field relevant to the position (community social services, rehabilitation)
  • Two years recent related experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and substance use problems; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Current valid BC Driver's License
