About the Role:
The Direct Care Worker provides one-to-one case management services to participants of Velma's House 24/7 Safe Space, while also acting as a support worker to participants who are accessing the space on a drop-in basis.
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, this role combines the responsibilities of Support/Outreach staff, with more intensive, one-to-one support for participants who request it.
This includes working with the staff team to ensure the drop-in runs effectively; preparing and serving meals, cleaning, providing participants with the items they need for the day, while setting aside blocks of time to work with participants on their goals, connect to needed resources, book appointments, and follow up.
