Job Summary

The Personal Support Worker/Caregiver is a vital member of our home care team who works under the supervision of the Director of Care. Your primary responsibilities will include providing various personal care services as necessary to meet the client's needs, including AM and PM care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, accompanying clients on outings, shopping, and errands, medication reminders, ambulation, transporting clients, providing companionship, and documenting their care plan.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for clients
  • Provide light housekeeping services to maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Accompany clients on outings and social events
  • Assist with shopping and errands as needed
  • Remind clients to take their medications
  • Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Document client care plans and any changes in their condition

Qualifications

To be successful as a Personal Support Worker/Caregiver, you must possess a Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent, current CPR/First Aid training, and a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray. You should also have access to the internet and a mobile phone, excellent communication skills, and great support and teamwork abilities. Prior experience working with dementia patients is highly desirable.
