Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Coquihalla Gillis House in Merritt, B.C. This is a Relief Full-Time position working Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00.

This is a Casual opportunity, which means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from hours per week.

  • Effective hourly rate is $28.31
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize, process, coordinate, and transcribe physicians' orders;
  • Act as a communication link for the Unit;
  • Schedule, book, and coordinate patient/resident appointments;
  • Assemble and maintain patient/resident charts, input patient/resident data, and transcribe information into relevant systems;
  • Clerical duties - keyboarding, data entry, filing, compiling, preparing, and maintaining statistics, producing reports, delivering, and picking up items;
  • Maintain timekeeping records for regular and relief staff and submit/enter to payroll systems;
  • Observe patient/resident call signals and relay messages to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12;
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater completed within past 48 months from a recognized institution;
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate;
  • Your Resume;
  • A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position.
