About the Job:

The Public Health Nurse (PHN) plays a vital role in the Public Health Services team, providing nursing services within the framework of the Population Health/Health Promotion model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate knowledge from the health and social sciences to support health-enhancing behaviors in diverse individuals, families, and population groups.
  • Offer services in communities, schools, homes, and outreach locations to individuals, families, and communities.

Inherent in the role are knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotion, epidemiology, community development, primary health care, social determinants of health and illness, and disease and injury prevention.

This is a casual opportunity, which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary, and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions.

Days of work may be Monday to Friday during the hours of 08:30 to 16:30.

The vibrant city of Kelowna offers a diverse range of activities, including vineyards, orchards, golfing, hiking and biking trails, beaches, and a diverse arts and culture scene.

Travel is a requirement for this position, and transportation arrangements must meet the Employer's requirements. You are required to hold a valid BC Driver's License and may be required to drive a personal car on mileage or be assigned a fleet vehicle as a condition of employment.
