We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Aide to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Psychiatric Aide, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and support in our inpatient neuro rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
- Observe and report on patients' mood, health, and well-being.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and health professionals.
- Assist with the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Completion of Grade 12.
- A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer.
- Sound observation and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary psychiatric and rehabilitation setting.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the position.
- Greater than six months of experience in working with stroke and brain-injured patients.
- Direct experience in an inpatient neuro rehabilitation setting.
