Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be an integral member of the Building Systems team, responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of all building service-related activities in a customer-focused manner. This includes ensuring the safe, efficient, reliable, and fully compliant operation and maintenance of all Apotex facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, manage, implement, coordinate, and set departmental priorities for the Building Systems Department to ensure the delivery of reliable, safe, and efficient services.
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage the performance of direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee growth.
- Oversee facility maintenance, repairs, and minor renovations of existing buildings, building systems, equipment, grounds, control, and utility systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement effective calibration programs for building systems, equipment, and components, as well as in-house calibration services for manufacturing equipment and components.
- Establish priorities for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements, allocating work to staff and contractors as needed, while ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, calibration, repair, or alteration work related to building systems and equipment, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Represent the department on committees, providing expertise and contributing to informed decision-making.
- Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions as necessary, ensuring alignment with Apotex's policies and procedures.
- Implement staff training programs to ensure GMP compliance and adherence to Apotex's policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Facilities Development to analyze and provide recommendations on future facility requirements, ensuring proactive planning.
- Support Facilities Development through design evaluation, assessing new equipment and facilities construction projects.
- Manage assigned projects within deadlines, overseeing budget, tender, contract, purchase, receipt, payment, and reconciliation processes.
- Develop and manage cost center budgets, reporting variances and taking action to maintain fiscal responsibility for building system assets.
- Drive continuous improvement through Total Quality Management programs, analyzing and managing utilities, energy conservation, and environmental initiatives.
- Perform all work in accordance with established regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as Corporate Values.
