Course Title: HUMN-2012: Queer Theories
Course Description: This interdisciplinary course explores histories and theories of sexualities and representation, examining various fields of production and thought, including art and design. We will analyze mainstream cultural and activist stances, discussing theoretical writings on the histories and constructions of multiple sexualities and gendered subjectivities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver course content, including lectures, critiques, and grading.
- Ensure a respectful and inclusive learning environment for students, staff, and faculty.
- Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment.
Terms of Employment: Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts with a per-course pay scale, including a salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
