At Arc'teryx, we're committed to delivering high-quality products that meet our brand's standards. As a Material Quality Specialist 2, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our materials from development through to bulk production.

About the Job
This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that our materials meet the required quality standards.

Main Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Raw Materials Development or Advanced Concepts teams during the R&D and development stages to offer expert consultation and guidance on testing requirements and quality.
* Review test reports, material specifications, and physical samples of newly developed materials validated and handed over by Material Developers. Approve materials based on the brand's procedures, requirements, and standards, while promptly flagging any identified issues to the management for resolution.
* Plan tests for monitoring the performance of the material in seasonal SRS and/or bulk production in accordance with the material specifications and brand's standards.
* Develop or modify test methods for quality assessment of the material.
* Provide technical guidance to the suppliers and labs about the brand's standards, testing, and quality requirements.
* Analyze incoming test reports, approve them, and promptly flag and follow up on any failures or issues as needed.
* Review bulk production samples (including first bulk batches) received from suppliers and factories, provide feedback, initiate corrective actions and follow-ups as required.
* Engage with raw material suppliers about implementing the brand's quality requirements, review their performance, and resolve quality issues.
* Onboard new suppliers by introducing them to the brand's material quality requirements and processes.
* Assess material quality issues at the bulk production stage, gather information, conduct assessments, and provide feedback to the material supplier and garment factories in accordance with the brand's issue resolution process.
* Develop regular reports on the quality and performance of materials and suppliers.
* Support the documentation of process and workflows.

Requirements
* Minimum bachelor's degree in textiles or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years' experience in materials quality, materials development, or textile production.
* Deep knowledge of textile fibers, production processes (including spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing), as well as strong knowledge of standard test methods for quality testing.
* Ability to make decisions independently by processing data and weighing available information.

About the Opportunity
The salary range for this role is CAD$80,000 - CAD$100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
